The BOY turns 5

How do I even start a post about my first child turning 5? Really how can this be?? I can remember so much from the moment I saw him to today {ok I try to block out the crying, screaming and refusing to eat anything green phase and oh yeah potty training - but still I can remember all of it}.
I just can't believe it has been 5 years.

Where has the time gone? I can remember seeing him for the first time at the hospital - so small, so perfect, so stole my heart. Now fast forward five years and he is ALL boy - bike riding, tball playing, spelling bee champ and above all rowdy! I just can not imagine my life with out him.

Now pictures from his birthday party will be up soon but since both of our children are so close in birth dates we combine them [oh yes I do and I will as long as I can get away with it].

Before I get into his birthday celebrations and combined stuff too {another few posts to follow}

I want to show you my little man over the last five years.

OKAY as I was looking for the photos I am just BLOWN away by how much I love him and the little man he is turning into.... yikes

Birthday Boy the BIG 5

But for now I want to give you a little insight into his birthday celebrations.

First thing First: I wanted the day to be ALL about him from waking up to the second his head hits his pillow.

I snuck into his room and quietly woke him up singing happy birthday. He even curled up in my lap and let me snuggle {love the little moments}. We headed down stairs for his first surprise - his first birthday gift of the year.
Oh yes an alarm clock hehe - but it does match his room

Then it was breakfast time - homemade banana muffins and a fruit shake for his breakfast

He did have to go to school on his birthday and I am sorry to report that his school as opted to celebrate all of the birthdays at the end of the year - so there is NO taking cupcakes to his school or even throwing a little party {really??? super bummed but moving on}. So what was I to do for him special?? Well first off I wanted to make his lunch special so I let him have what ever he wanted - left over pizza (yes that is what he wanted), V-8 Fusion drink and wait for it..... a homemade chocolate chip cookie {remember I don't give them chocolate so this was a treat}.

His grandma is starting a tradition of taking each kid on their birthday to make the day all about them. He was picked up early from school and received his gift (the below bike and helmet) and he even had a little lego building time.

I received my second present - my new BMX bike and helmet from grandma and grandpa

We also asked the boy what he wanted for dinner - soup from Vince's - you bethca honey anything you want [score for mom I love their soup].

Grandma and Grandpa came out for the big 5 dinner

Guess how old I am???

Also, I wanted to mention and THANK everyone that called him on his big day! The phone calls just added to the excitement!

Look for the next posts that will highlight their trip to Disneyland and their birthday part and of course an entire Day for the girl!!!
