Carefree weekend

This weekend was filled with a lot of down time and I loved it. We started with our first ever kid sleepover - talk about success! They played, watched a movie, painted the girls nails and when we said lights out they went straight to bed. That led into Saturday with breakfast and outside play - a great first run!

Saturday was pure laziness besides my workout of course.

I mentioned workout: I wanted to briefly fill you all in on this challenge that I am doing:

I joined this online 2 week challenge over at Mamavation.

It is to challenge yourself to do a given workout 6 days a week, tweet about it along with following a healthier eating habit and instagraming every meal.

I am a person that in order for fitness and workouts to be successful they have to be quick {yes quick I don't have time for 1 - 2 hours a day}, show results, be fun and have someone or something to be accountable to!

This challenge gave me that. The workouts ARE killing me in a great way - I am sore - which to me means I am doing it and doing it hard. Besides the given workout I have also been adding my own cardio as well {running, walking, biking and the elliptical along with hiking}.

As for the food, since being on weight watchers for so long I believe I do make healthier options then I have in the past but having to take pictures adds a WHOLE new level of watching what you do.

I have to say I have done very well on the workout side but taking pictures of my food - not so much - I seem to remember after I have ate 1/2 of it or all of it [trying to be better on this].

Another key element of this challenge was the weigh in and measurements in the beginning. I am anxious to see what the results will be after the two weeks.

If anyone is interested to "watch" me over the next week to see my eating habits and workout please follow via twitter @shareeandrade or instagram momFITtingitallin

Now back to my LAZY wonderful weekend that consisted of Naps and just plain old good family lounge time.

Sunday we went for a family hike and then over to hang out with my brother before he went to work. We spent the rest of the afternoon celebrating my grandmas 75 birthday and of course grandparents day!

All in all a wonderful low key weekend! {I so need more of these}!

  1. Such a cute outfit! I guess I could refer to it as workout gear, but I'm one to wear that stuff even on days I don't workout. I need to take more family hikes. So glad to hear you had a "lazy" weekend- you do deserved it! Also, I am SOOOO proud of you for sticking with Mamavation. I haven't quit per say, but I was totally over the photo thing. You are doing so great!!!

  2. Congrats on the sleepover! It always feels amazing when those are successes :) Keep up the good job with the workouts.

  3. I love a good sleepover success!!!

  4. I remember sleepovers. Sleepovers=No Sleep. ;) Hope you caught up on yours.

  5. looks like you had a good weekend! :)
you should stop by and say hi sometime!

  7. That's the kind of weekend I need!!! Newest follower from the GFC blog hop. Would LOVE it if you could visit my humorous blog site and follow me back__I'd be very grateful! Thanks for sharing!

  8. WOW this looks fantastic! So fun! Excited to meet you :). Just found your from the GFC Hop excited to follow you!!

  9. Love the family time and the mom playing on the playground. I'm thinking spinning chairs could be the next great thing in child monitoring tools-- ya know? You just sit and spin and get a 380 view of the kiddos without straining your neck and all. hee, hee. =)

I'm a day late and a whole lot short but I'm following ya now from the GFC hop. If you're up for a bit of a ride-- I'd just love to have ya with me at where life is a wave and we're paddling out to meet it, (and also praying really hard that we don't wipe out-- at least not too often) =).

What are your thoughts? I love to read them!
