A little dress thing

Lately I have been in love with dresses. I have always been a skirt girl because you get to break up the body image. I have stayed away from anything that I thought would accent the middle section.

Well I picked up this dress and fell in love. Add a few accessories and bam cute outfit!

The dress is from Target and the little cardigan is from Kohls.

And I wanted to post a picture of my work photographer - my dear friend. He is subjected to all of my clothing nonsense when all he cares about is video games and t-shirts. But he is a sweety!
Can't you tell that he is so EXCITED to help me out???

So on this Friday I want to wish everyone a wonderful LABOR DAY and hopefully we all have a little fun, relaxation, friends and family time planned!!!

Its Ok Thursday

It's Okay that I am on post #2 today.

It's Okay that YESTERDAY was by far a VERY emotional day and I am glad it is behind me. SHIT was it a day. I followed through and told the company I helped on the side I can not continue on, I got not such a good experience at work and my sickness is just not improving.

It's OKAY that I decided to try a new look and umm I actually like it I hope you do too. Well now seeing it in pictures I love the colors and I am so LOVING the gold but maybe my thighs....I am still saying It's OKAY

It's OKAY that I have missed the first two games of our kids t-ball games - this sickness has me in the dumps.

It's OKAY that I feel like pulling my hair out with my boy  - he isn't listening - advice on this mothers with boys????

It's OKAY that I want to cancel all my plans this weekend and sit on butt and do NOTHING.

It's OKAY that I put my family first (this is a reminder to myself).

It's OKAY that I have now decided washing my hair every other day gives me that sexy bed head hehe :)

my faithful photo taker was making me laugh so hard

His and Her Questions

So this was interesting because this clued me in that my hubby isn't interested in my blog - now don't get me wrong he encourages me to do, he loves that I found something I love to do - ahh that is the answer because I am doing it not him not his passion. Geez having him answer the below questions were like pulling teeth. Now he smiles for all of my ridiculous pictures, he is my camera taker and he knows not to bite into his plate until he knows if I am going to do a post about- so really it doesn't get any better then that PLUS he gets to live and experience all of this stuff first hand! And he is still happily married to me - another big plus!

So this may be the last his And hers, we will see.

What is something weird your spouse does while asleep?
His: I don't know I am asleep before her.
Her: OMG where do I start he snores, he jerks, he grinds his teeth, he tosses and turns, he sweats, the list is pretty endless.

Which of the 7 deadly sins are you? (anger, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony)
His: pride when I asked why he said really - takes pride in taking care of the things we own - house, vehicles, yard, quads, trailer
Her: Gluttony for punishment - is that the right meaning???

What was your favorite hiding place as a kid?
His: I didn't have a hiding place.
Her: I lived on a farm so anywhere behind the big gates or in the cypress trees.

What music artist do you love that your other half hates listening to?
His: talk radio kfi 640
Her: Um since being with me I think he has embraced my love for Country.

What has your other half recently done that made you love them
Him: being there for me during the death of my father
Her: He forced me to admit that I just have too much on my plate and he helped me stick to the decision of cutting back.

What is your favorite hole-in-the-wall place to eat? (or favorite restaurant in general)
His: Buffalo wild wings
Her: I love fresh chinese food and panera bread with a little Tio's mexican taco tuesdays.

What do you admire most about your significant other?
His: her unending drive to do everything for herself me and our children
Her: How well he puts up with me and my craziness. That is true happiness! HE is always there for me and loves me despite it all.
Ideally, where would you like to be 5 years from now?
His: Debt free
Her: Debt free and slowing down a little.

Who wears the pants?
His: Me as I laugh
Her: I would love to say that he does or actually really I do but we do communicate and make decisions to together. I am more aggresive then he is in starting the process.

So What and What I Wore Wednesday

Today I am linking up with two wonderful blogs!!

My faithful So What Wednesdays with Shannon at L.A.I.D

and my newest fav What I Wore Wednesday with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy

pleated poppy

SO I am dancing a jig, smiling and SO HAPPY that it is Wednesday because I have HAD enough So What's this week.

- So What that I spend over 2.5 hours at Urgent Care yesterday - but I am happy I went sooner then later.

- So What that I COULD not sleep last night because I was restless but extremely tired and my hubby already started snoring. Argh!!!

- So What that I am over the top excited about a new idea and possible giveaway with my bested virtual blog friend turned into daily chatter Lindsay over at From Nanny to Family!! Keep a look out!

- So What that I am looking forward to our 3 day weekend but not looking forward to it being jam packed.

- So What that I am in ALL PLAN mode for our babies party only a month away and the list is too long of what needs to be done. Carnival theme - so games (to build), prizes to get, decorations, food, presents, tables and chairs - and umm I might have invited 90+ people - I shocked my hubby and said that some might not come AND most are family that will come. YIKES

- So What that I hired a photo booth guy and a face-painting gal!! OH yeah!!

- So What we already have two vacations planned and booked for 2013! Suber excited about that!

- SO What I got in my nail polishes from my polish swap and can't wait to paint my nails - thinking Thursday because the reveal is Friday! Perfect timing!

Even with 3 hours of sleep I still wanted to look girlie and cute - BUT the eyes give me a way I think.

Giving Up Control...trying at least in some areas

OK today is it. I woke up barely able to breath. I fought through it and got the kids to school and my first meeting of the day BUT by 8 am I was out the door to urgent care - my health was warning me.

Isn't this attractive?
all of my meds
I got to urgent care and not a soul in the place (thank you LORD). I went right in and the prognosis was..... Bronchitis! I had this as a child ALL the time and I am still pegged with it as an adult. I knew from the burning chest, wheezing and shortness of breath.

He gave me TWO shots in the tushy and two breathing machine sessions and I was sent on my way to get more meds. Steroids, antibiotics and inhaler! I am feeling listless, tired and just at little overwhelmed. SO times like this help me decide what is the most important - ME and my family!

So - you ask - where is the Giving Up Control part??? Yes Yes I am getting there.

Here are the areas I have decided TODAY that I can live with out doing and putting more stress on myself and my family and my time:

- Coaching/Team mom - done for now! Once the kids get older and have more choices and thoughts of what they want I will step in again. BUT for now I am done (and that means hubby will be happy). I don't need to control the team, the schedule ANYTHING. I just show up, sit down and veg out!!! I am liking that - can you have wine on the field????
- Side work - I take on "side" work projects to help others, to EVENTUALLY earn extra money but I am done. I enjoy it but it isn't enough to keep me up at nights, away from my family or worry about it. The hardest part on this is going to tell the few companies that I signed up with that I can not do it any longer. I hope they understand (again out of my control).
- My hubby's money - we get allowance EACH of us - do what you want with it I DON'T CARE. Ahh this is feeling so good - release!
 - Kids clothing - Okay I am easing up on this. We do pick out the outfits at night but if she wants one shirt verses the other so be it - EXCEPT for pictures and big events - I am just not caring, really I am letting loose here. As for the boy anything Tony Hawk and he doesn't care anyways.
- Trying to be friends with people - If you are my friend you are with me no matter what. If we strike up a conversation and it doesn't come natural - see ya! Family, Friends, Acquaintances, Co-Workers, I don't care who you are - I finally at the age of 32 realize if it isn't going to work it just isn't!!! Case closed (yeah right I am a  big softie you be nice to be and I crack :)).

Things that I am going to try!!

- Asking for help! In order to give up control even more I need to start asking or accepting help. PEOPLE I need help this nation of MY LIFE can not continue on this path. NOW let me clarify my hubby is the BIGGEST help ever and I can easily ask my mother and brother for things ALL the time  - hey they are my fam! However, with other friends and family I feel reluctant to ask for help. WHY you ask because I don't like to 1) need help 2) be a burden on others. So watch out people I am going to be asking for help!

So Tuesday you are doing wonders for me!! Watch out!!

However, something that isn't going to the waste side is my love for dressing nice. So despire the way I feel I atleast wanted to look nice. NOTE: I even curled my hair today but FAIL on that. The outfit is a dress from JC Penny and the belt is another wonderful birthday present from my BFF.  I look a little down in the eyes - yikes.

Not a morning person ADD a cold and another BFF present

Have I mentioned that I am not a morning person? I can't stand the actual dragging myself out of bed - it can be 4 am 6 am 9 am - it is just the fact that I have to stop sleeping. Now don't confuse that with me wanting to be dead heck no I love being a live but I love me some sleep.

Now you ask how do I sleep with two kiddos - well the good lord above blessed us with two kids that have slept so well since almost birth and they enjoy sleeping as well. Also, they are at the age that they can play in their rooms on the weekends so I can get like 20 more minutes of sleep.

Any ways mornings are hard for me. Getting up argh. I always need to stretch because I feel like my body isn't working and it aches - is this a sign of age or what? Then I already know what is going to happen I need to wake up the kids - as we remember what my mornings are like - look here or here.

In the mornings I would love to just be quiet no talking (yes for me a talker) I would love quiet time - let me adjust to being vertical, the brightness of the day maybe just get a little color into my skin - something! Plus add in that the 3 of us have to get out of the house all by 6:30 am.

I am thinking my issue of not being the most upbeat person in the morning is why my temper can flare up VERY easily in the mornings especially with the kiddos.

So my question is - what do I do? Because this routine will not be changing for ummm a while.

Things that I am trying:

- Yoga stretch - I get up and do about 2 minutes of stretching in the morning. It feels good it seems to get all of the kinks out and it is actually refreshing.

- Alarm clocks - we ordered alarm clocks for the kids - my thought here is to get them use to waking themselves up and NOT being the bad guy making them get up - fingers crossed for this!

- Clothes and Lunches - picked out and packed the night before. This helps out SOOO much.
Well that is all I have for know.
Does anyone else have any more advice, suggestions???
Anything else PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I wrote the above post a while ago BUT today I woke up and it was one of THOSE mornings. I still have a bug, something not sure but I don't feel 100% which means - I am cranky and even have less of a chance of holding back my irritable stage and craziness. When the alarm went of this morning I reset it for 7 am and emailed my boss that I would be in late (2 hours late by the time I got here). The kids got to sleep in and I GOT TO SLEEP in. The kids were actually really good this morning THANK YOU LORD, and we were out of the house with no melt downs or yelling.
Then SHIT I forgot that I had to take the hubbies truck in for service - WHY today? Argh. Dropped off one kid then the next then headed to the dealership. Where guess what the dang shuttle left me not once but TWICE, really??? So in came my lifesaver friend Jason!! Thank you.
Finally made it to work to find out that it was a stupid bad light bulb - but hey it is under the warranty.
Did I mention that we have our first game tonight to for t-ball - argh shoot me.
WITH all of this I thought I needed to dress nice to at least let myself look bright - did it work?? I love the colorful scarf and I even added the snake belt again!! I paired it with my coach flats, black slacks from Kohl's and this plain white shirt (that I should found in my closet with tags - score)!!

So here is to me getting through this Monday and NOT getting my kiddos sick on the way!

Dessert almost too good for words...

Do you want to try an AMAZING too good for words Dessert?

Do you like chocolate chip cookie dough?

Do you like brownies?

If you answer YES to any or ALL of these questions you are in for a treat...

We went to a function a few weeks ago and this was on the dessert table and I had to sample it. It was sweet, had plenty of texture and just made you feel at home.

I ran home and searched pinterest and the Internet until I found it....

Now I typically LOVE to just bake but these I wanted to EAT
(so of course I baked them for the Toby Keith concert to ensure that we didn't have any left because oh no I would be in trouble).

Here is the directions - super easy and NO egg in the uncooked portion.

chocolate chip cookie dough brownies

Yield: 32 brownies
Prep Time: 30 min + cooling time
Cook Time: 25 min

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
1 cup salted butter, melted
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup mini- chocolate chips
3/4 cup salted butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
3 Tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips

1. Prepare the brownies: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a 9x13-inch pan with nonstick spray. In a medium glass bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave in short bursts of 30 seconds; stir after each burst and remove from microwave when melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the butter and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk those in too. Mix in melted chocolate. Whisk in the flour and mix just until combined (don't over-mix). Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 35 minutes. Watch closely and remove from oven when toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.I PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER
2. Prepare the cookie dough: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to combine butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Mix in milk and vanilla. Mix in flour just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Spread cookie dough over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate until the dough is quite firm. It's okay to speed up the process and place it in the freezer too. The firmer the dough, the easier it will be to cut into neat squares. Use a sharp knife to cut the brownies. You may need to wipe the knife off with a paper towel in between cuts since the fudgy brownies and cookie dough will tend to stick to the knife a bit. These brownies are best to serve placed inside cupcake papers and served with a fork.

Being the DD

My brother just turned 24 and this year he decided to have a themed birthday party - 80's workout theme.

Now before I met my wonderful husband (wait to see what I say about him at the end of this post) I would have stayed clear of dressing up for anything - but he loves to get in the spirit and despite my kicking and screaming - yeah right the instance I heard the theme I was on etsy for ideas.

So with our outfits on and ready to party.... Wait before this the hubby asked me to be the DD this time - typically it is him and me with my merLOT!

So this year good ole me did not take one sip of any liquor except water!

So why the HE** am I waking up feeling like crap? Feeling like I have a hangover, having to use the bathroom, pounding headache - wth???

I blame this all on my hubby and him wanting me to be the dd! Argh ... Well let me tell you he will be the dd from now on - jerk (ok with that vented and put in writing here are a few pictures from the party). And he told me he feels fine , of course! Argh

The party was actually a lot of fun - you can't go wrong with family and friends and a few games - musical chairs, twister and freeze dance - I kicked ass on the freeze dance!

I am so excited to co-host this WONDERFUL blog link up.

So here is a look into one of MY not so well activities....

Ok pinterest and YouTube tutorials are my fav. I have been successful in the past with several projects including the cup holder and admit one ticket holder HOWEVER some of them just don't work for me.

Take a look.

I always thought it would be great to take clothes that my daughter or even I love and turn them into tanks. So when I won this AMAZING t-shirt off of twitter from Toby Keith Music and I thought it would be perfect to create a Razor Back Tank top from it and wear it to the concert (but look here my outfit was so much better anyways). And it would be a great way to start this project.

So my thought was to take that shirt and turn it into a tank and add it to a jean skirt and cowboy boots.

Off to pinterest and You tube I went. I found several and they all said EASY, SIMPLE and QUICK.

So I propped up my trusting iPad and set off to COPY step by step to recreate a master piece. It stated no SEWING needed (perfect because I own a brand new sewing machine that is still in the closet).

the shirt
the after
I am trying to make myself THINK that this is cute
Umm this doesn't look right...

Ok I DON'T know what happened, really I don't. I stopped the video, watched every second and it just welllll FAILED.

So I didn't want to ruin my Toby Keith shirt so I wore this shirt one time and trashed it.

I will try this again but I am going to give myself enough time to get over the failure and maybe you can comment and let me know how I can do this better and what tutorial specifically I can use.

So What

- So What that I am entering giveaways like crazy. I just read one woman's blog that she won a fully paid for trip to Disneyworld for 8! OMG That would be amazing!!

- So What I won $100 on twitter for Amazon.com :) oh yeah!!!

- SO What that I am in a great GROVE for blogging and I don't want to stop.

- So What that I adore my job but would love to have maybe a one hit wonder that paid big, or win the lotto {means I would have to play}, or get a BIG raise, or maybe just maybe this little itty blog will blow up and I could get a book deal about my life or a newspaper column {okay now I went all Sex and The City on ya} but you get the picture :) of maybe work the same job for the same pay in less hours??? Any takers??

- SO What that I am still a little girl when it comes to my grandma. I love her so much and it is getting so hard to see her old. :(

- So What that I enjoy "walking/running" with my BFF {even if that is on the phone}.

- So What last night I finally got to do the entire 3 miles with my actuall BFF by myside!

- So What that I am a horrible Auntie and it took me 5 weeks to get over and meet my other BFF newest baby boy BUT we had a blast {minus the exploded diaper on my shirt}.

- So What that we had a cart full of kids and no groceries at Costco.

- So What that I ALWAYS like to help clean out my BFF's closest because then I get a treat too. Take a look at my recycled shirt :) THANK YOU
Sorry for the boob picture but I didn't feel like a "me" picture today and the shirt was too cute!!!

Admit One

Since my hubby and I meet in 2004 I have kept ticket stubs from movies, theme parks, concerts and other activities. Every year I place them around our mirror in our bedroom and then they go into this old box I have HAD for years. Well while I was pinning away on pinterest I came across this ticket display box. I thought is was so cute and such a great piece to hold our items.

Off to Michaels I went with my 20% off coupon and I found the perfect box - it has a sliding top so we can throw the tickets in as we get home! I even added a few items from the scarpbooking aisle to dress it up!

Take a look at the start to finish masterpiece!

To me this was a WINNER!!!!!!!

Let's begin

All Done

LOVE it items from 2004 - present (2007 was our biggest year AKA before kiddos )

What a great place to display our adventures and good times
