A Girl's Night out

Tonight was a night just for us girls - 3 generations - Grandee, Mom and Alexee Girl!!! We were out to have some good old girl fun. First stop HAIR - Grandee and Mom went for a highlight and cut while the soon to be birthday girl went for the cut with a feather look!

She was amazing: Wash, Cut, Blow dry and feather put in all sitting so nicely!!
Thank you Hairdresser Erin!!!

After her feather - Grandee gave her one of our many birthday presents early - Hello Kitty animal and Beauty and the Beast movie.

Grandee and Alexee girl at dinner

After our girls hair appointment it was off to dinner. Alexee girl wanted a hamburger without meat but with cheese (yikes already like her mother at 3). Off to The Habit we went. So yummy!! After a wonderful bonding dinner we were off to drop Grandee off and RACE home so mommy could make cupcakes for the birthday girl.

3 Generations

BUT WAIT one last photo op with Grandee.

Once we get home my hubby helped with bath time and put the kiddos in pajamas so I could start baking away. WELL GUESS what I was out of ingredients so  wonderful hubby ran to the store for me (love you babe).

So Alexee girl now has 2 dozen homemade cupcakes (made with applesauce) for her school tomorrow.

Again, how has time gone by so fast - my little girl is growing up so fast. Love you Alexee Girl

Bubba's 4th Birthday!

Today is the day - Alex turned 4!! Today was all about doing things for him and with him!!

Mom started out with a pancake breakfast (yes he actually got syrup for the 1st time - sugar free)! After breakfast we wanted to give him a few gifts of his own (we combine their parties) he got his first bicycle, more motorcycles and a coloring kit for the car and oh yeah the movie Wall-E.

We were so excited to see him get right on the bike (with training wheels) and ride up and down the street. He is just getting so big so fast.

For his big day we wanted to do something special - we took the family hiking at Heap Peak in Lake Arrowhead (ahh where it all began for mom and dad). For this trip grandee joined us.

We also want to say how blessed we are with everyone texting, facebooking, calling and even singing him happy birthday on this special day!!!

We hiked the .7 mile loop with such ease and the kids LOVED it. I would recommend this little hike for anyone with small kiddo's. - DON'T forget your Adventure Pass!!!! The hike took about an hour with reading all of the informational signs along the way. This little hike got us very hungry. We headed to the Lake Arrowhead Village. When we got there they were having a Porsche event - so many lined up and down the streets new and old. The first stop was feeding the ducks - great cheap fun for the babies!!! Then it was off to hear a little singing by the Oktoberfest signers then LUNCH. We had the best mexican food. And of course you can not end the day without a little dessert - Rocky Mountain Factory!!!!

This was that kind of day that you NEVER even look at your watch/cell phone. It was pure enjoyment. We ended the day by stopping by and visiting Uncle at work.

All in all we think Alex's 4th birthday was a great success - and think he still has a party yet!!!!!

Our baby is turning 4

Where has the time gone? I can't believe our little man is turning 4 on Saturday. This week at school we were told that he will be student of the week for next week - how perfect is that? We are extremely proud and lucky. We were told to bring in an outfit from when he was smaller. Just last night me and the hubby were going through bubba's box of keepsakes and I just started to cry. We were remembering everything from the first moment we laid our eyes on him, the construction zone outfit he came home in, the little knit beanie from the hospital, pictures from his baby showers, his first motorcycle outfit, his first xmas pj's and as we are looking at them we can not believe that he once fit in any of it. We even held up his coming home outfit on him and it went from his neck to above his belly - when did he grow up??

I know time flies but to truly understand and appreciate time is seeing it through your children.
With his birthday upon us I was super excited to bake for his 1st school birthday. I baked homemade cupcakes and can't wait to see his face tomorrow when he gets to take them to his school. Along with the homemade cupcakes as a pre-cursor to his birthday celebrations he also received

And with his birthday coming and focusing on our family - we are trying to stay together as much as possible. We were even able to watch him play on the Phillie's tonight!!!

Having our children is joy (crazy at times) but pure joy!!

We have so much planned for his birthday (and his sister's as well).

Time is flying, love is soaring, and family is the most important thing in this world!

H A R L E Y Ride - Freedom

Cuz, Cuz gf, me, hubby

This past weekend was amazing. I am not sure words can FULLY explain how this weekend was for us. It was filled with freedom, relaxing, love, nature, beauty, AMERICAN, true, revealing, bonding, and food :) !

Our couple weekend included my cousin and his wonderful gf along with my hubby and me and the open road - 800 miles round trip. We picked out the BIG DADDY Harley (aka Electra Glide Limited) and packed way too little and off we went. We left Downtown Riverside and traveled up to the PCH 1. We passed Hearst Castle and got to see the wonderful Zebras, horses and even wild turkeys on the side of the road. As we rode through PCH 1 right by the coast I have never NEVER been at such peace and open to the silence and thinking that comes with it. Riding behind my husband with no access to a cell phone, talking NOTHING to distract you from the OPEN. I was just gazing at the beauty and enjoying just time with my hubby and my thoughts. Having the ability to just think I had this connection this understanding of so much.

Freebird burrito from Santa Barbara

After the beauty of PCH 1 I didn't think it could get any better - boy was I wrong. We headed into Santa Barbara and had the most amazing burrito!!! I felt by going with the whole wheat tortilla I was being healthy!!! But looking at this little college town I thought two things: ONE I am so old and TWO I would love to give this opportunity to my babies for their future. After some very DEEP thinking and fast eating we hit the road again. This time we added the layers on - 5 total by the time we left. It was weird as soon as we hit Santa Barbara that wall of heat just disappeared and the coolness rose. It was the best feeling.

We rode out of Santa Barbara and we began to ride in the dark (even more amazing except for NOW it was getting cold). We headed into Santa Maria were we stopped in the first hotel and got a room (we made sure the place had a hot tub). This place was so nice full kitchen and all - not that we cooked but it was nice. As soon as we checked in we were off to the hot tub - that was what the doctor ordered after 5 hours on a bike.

After a very deep sleep we were off to Monterey. Another peaceful and beautiful ride. We rode for about 6 - 7 more hours and we ended up running into a cool little fair and SHOPPING. We were able to find little trinkets for everyone - that even fit into the bags on the Harley.

We headed down to Cannery Row - AMAZING. More shopping and the most amazing thing - Cherry Jubilee - one of the biggest greatest car show. They blocked off the street and you were able to look and take pictures of all of the vehicles and admire the shoes as well. The car show was like shoe shopping for girls for our hubbies. Tyson and Shane were in heaven. On this path we also got to indulge in some amazing sweets - Death by Chocolate - oh so yummy. (Riding on the back of a Harley had to kill a lot of calories, right????).

hubby and me on the harley

After a lot of sightseeing, hand holding and enjoying ourselves it was time to rest. WELL here is where the letting our husbands  plan things went a little sketchy. They didn't book a hotel so it took us over an hour to find a place NOT sold out - didn't realize the Cherry Jubilee was that big of a deal - or a hotel that was GHETTO. The boys had to pay for this - HYATT here we come :). I have to say the hotel was very nice (double the place in Santa Maria in cost) HOWEVER not as nice. They did have a hot tub which we were in until we got kicked out by the staff.

That night we slept so soundly and comfortably too. We woke up the next morning and were on the road by 7:00 a.m. to head home. Something I didn't think about on this trip is it took us 2 days to get here but we only had 1 day to get home. As we raced home we stayed in that saddle for nearly 8 hours straight only stopping for Chiptole. As we pull back into Riverside a mere 1/2 hour before our return time I think OH YEAH I can get off this bike but REALLY I am already planning our trip for next year - 2 days there 2 days back next time.

As I sit here reflecting our trip I can give you the full breakdown but the again to express the PURE JOY that I got from this trip just can not be put into words.

I felt patriotic and so happy that we were experiencing this great nature and peace and remembering those of 9-11. We even were able to see two convoy's on our trip home. We made sure to say thank you to each one and a thumbs up.

You can not get more patriotic then a Harley ride through this peaceful great openness.

                                                                Amazon Description:

What would happen if you were visited by your younger self, and got a chance for a do-over?

Alice Love is twenty-nine years old, madly in love with her husband, and pregnant with their first child. So imagine her surprise when, after a fall, she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! she HATES the gym!) and discovers that she's actually thirty-nine, has three children, and is in the midst of an acrimonious divorce.

A knock on the head has misplaced ten years of her life, and Alice isn't sure she likes who she's become. It turns out, though, that forgetting might be the most memorable thing that has ever happened to Alice.

We will offer a link up to review What Alice Forgot on Monday October 1st.

The kids NEW favorite TREAT

In the past I have mentioned that getting our son to eat veggies has been a little trying at times. We have finally got past the forced throwing up and now he even asks for salad at a restaurant. We can get him to try almost everything  now.

HOWEVER we have found something that both of our kids
ASK for, love and think is one of the best treats ever.

Plum Organics and Happy Tot are two brands that we use and we only get the VEGGIE kind. They like them cold or room temperature and they squeeze that little sucker dry!! It is organic and filled with veggies!!
They ask for these all day long - what a great think asking for veggies!!!
The best deal on the Plum organics is at Babies r us - look for them at $1 each!! (cheaper then Amazon).
