Getting back on the horse

With returning from my trip away I am having to catch up on much more then just sleep. As I stepped on the scale from this weekend I wasn't too depressed considering the FUN that I had over the weekend but needless to say getting back into the routine is very trying.

I wrote down all of my food intake yesterday and I can't seem to be able to fulfill my desire for water at this point. I even got in 55 minutes of time on the elliptical and arm exercises. I have been mentally coaching and motivating myself to do better well actually to just do it again!!!

Not only is it hard to get my exercise and food intake in control I also have to find a way for me and the kids to get back on our good schedule of actually arriving at school and work on time.

I tell you it takes 21 days to form a habit and 2 days to break it!!!
So going on day 2 of eating right and I am going to the gym tonight for a swim, bike and run lets see if we can get a day of being on time!!!

So here is to getting back on that horse: eating right, exercising and sticking to a good schedule.

Do you have a schedule?

Are you able to stick to it?

What is your exercise routine??

VEGAS Baby... What a trip

Fiat 500 - but it is PINK
Woo Wee... What a great trip. It was a time for full camaraderie! I was able tor the first time to check my HR hat at the state line and be shoulder to shoulder with all of my fellow employees. The trip started out Friday driving with 3 older gentlemen and me in a truck. Let me just tell you that I am well informed about synthetic oil and the FIAT 500 - seriously this is what was talked about on the entire 3 1/2 hour trip - Despite the not so fun topics it was a way to bond with these gentlemen and it was actually a lot of fun.

Pomegranate Margarita
We pulled into Las Vegas about 630 and checked into the Bally's Hotel. It was off to get dinner and ahhh a Margarita. For this trip I also checked the WW point system at my house so I can enjoy everything.

The rest of our fellow employees took the charted buses to Las Vegas and arrived about 930ish. This is when the real bonding started - over laughing, drinking, and just having pure fun. We were able to joke, people watch and just be. AMAZING.

That night my roommate and I went to bed about 1230am because the following morning we had a MANDATORY meeting that I had to give a presentation so it was good to be on our best behavior. After the meeting we all attended the Con EXPO. The expo displayed more machinery then I could ever see, cranes, and even JCB dancing diggers. After walking around and getting tons of give-a-ways for my babies we headed to Pink Taco for lunch - amazing tacos!!!

Dinner team
We finally headed back to our room and rested for a few hours before our mandatory dinner. Now I say mandatory but who wouldn't want to go to a high-end restaurant and order and eat/drink anything you want. Our group went to Sage at Aria. The meal and ambiance were breathtaking. My meal started out with asparagus soup then Yukon gold and cauliflower gnocchi and we topped it off with a chocolate mousse cake - yummy!!! After a wonderful dinner and great conversation we headed back to Bally's via limo (had to convince Paul he he ).

I have to step back a moment (just to clear my mom mind) and say that I talked to my babies early Saturday morning and they were so excited because they watched motorcycle races on Friday night and then they were getting ready to go to Knott's Berry Farm and see Snoopy!! And throughout my trip my hubby and I communicated via text all of the time. On that first night my hubby actually stayed away longer then I did!

Well back to Vegas. Returning to Bally's a majority of our employees stated at the casino bar and we were able to be front and center for PEOPLE WATCHING. I have go to say that you can see everything in Vegas. Just a sampling of what we say: tons of girls (yes I say girls because no WOMAN would ever dress this way) dressed like over stuffed sausages and even a tranie. It was nice to hang out with everyone and I even got in a few dance moves. On Saturday night I stayed up to about 230ish am and got about 3 hours of sleep before we were out the door to meet our ride (still in my pajamas) we ran out the door. We arrived back at home at 930 am which gave me the entire day to see my babies.

I was able to snuggle and kiss and enjoy all of their talking about how much fun they had this weekend. My mom, brother and his girlfriend came to hangout with us for lunch. And then we hit the BORDERS going out of business sale. Finally we got home and I was able to get in an hour nap which helped me get this far. After a nap and a very easy dinner I ran to Target for a few essentials ($150 dollars worth) and now I am finally sitting for the entire weekend and loving the quite time with my hubby.

I have to say this weekend was exactly what I needed. A time for bonding, reflection and time apart has the heart growing more.

Does anyone else thing that time a part helps grow your love?

What do you do in Las Vegas for fun?

Constant Pull

Add caption
Well the day started out with my baby girl crawling in our bed to NOT sleep. After coaxing her back to bed I lay there wide awake having the pulling internal conflict - do I go to Vegas, do I cancel and stay home. It is that constant pull between wanting to give 100% to my family and 100% to my work.

I pack up the car with my luggage, kids and my hubby drops me off at work saying go on your trip everything will be fine - I trust him right??? The kids will be fine he won't go crazy and either will they, right??? As I drag out my suitcase and give each kid a kiss my baby girl starts crying to go with me, ahhh the struggles. I love them and LIE that I will be back soon. Sunday is soon, right????

As I get into my office and settle in for a day of work I text my hubby to see how they are doing. As soon as they pulled out of the driveway they were both excited to go to school. That makes me feel a little less sad about going away. On that note - let me make sure I have my car charger and wall charger for my phone because I want to be able to text my hubby non-stop!!!

What does your hubby/children/significant others do to pull at your heart strings? Things that just make you feel so loved... Things that just reinforce the love you have for them...

Getting ready for the work trip VEGAS BABY

Well tonight I have been busying myself with getting ready for my trip to VEGAS for work. We are going to Con Expo. It is a weekend full of construction everything - including the biggest indoor/outdoor exhibits. But really for our company it means bonding and having a blast with our co-workers. Well I am packed and almost ready to go. HOWEVER packing for 1 1/2 days doesn't happen for me. I think I have a weeks worth of clothes - thank heavens I have a ride in a big truck to carry all of my luggage. Besides my luggage full of shoes and clothes I also have an additional bag for all of my bathroom items.

Clothing Luggage:
- Pajamas
- Socks
- Undies/bras
- 3 pair of shoes
- 2 outfits for dinner on Saturday - not sure which one I am going to wear yet
- 2 jackets
- 1 outfit for Saturday and Sunday plus extra shirts
- 1 going out purse and jewelry
WOO WEE

Bathroom Luggage:
- you name it it is in there (except the bathroom sink)

Then of course I have to bring my camera, book and extra book if I finish reading my current one (I doubt I will even pick it up), and ID :)!!

So I will give you all an update when I return...

Michelle is my middle name but Multi-tasking is my game

I sit here thinking of what I am doing. My brain goes a mile a minute and I am always thinking of things that I am doing, need to be doing or should be doing. And all of those things have to be done right now. At work I hold many titles and wear many hats. People joke that I need more business cards ( I currently already have 3). I am busy from the minute I walk in the door to the minute I walk out and generally longer then that since my position requires me to be available 24 hours a day and reachable 7 days a week. I realized that I am the mother, sister, wife and girlfriend of every man that works here. Seriously in the middle of my day one of my estimators asked me what medicine he needs because his head is stuffed up?? Well off to the break room I go to get him SINUS relief. I was filling in and doing Call Outs for the Chief Estimator while I updated the New Hire Packet for all of our new incoming employees. Crazy but what I enjoy to do.

On top of my actual job duties and responsibilities I also volunteer time on two organizations board. I am the Mentorship and Scholarship Chair for WTS and I am the Vice President of Membership for IE SHRM. So in between my work day I am working on tasks for the two boards - along with meeting with a fellow board member to finish the banking of our last meeting.

To accomplish all of this I rely on TECHNOLOGY. If it wasn't for my Blackberry (hooked up to all of my email accounts), Internet and double screens on my desk I would be lost. I think my favorite item that I use daily is my Outlook Calendar. It holds all of my meetings (personal and business) to the minute. If it wasn't for that little alarm I would have missed my much wanted and needed facial today during my lunch.

Good day to all of you and thank you for reading!!

Inspired to be more, do more, provide more

Everyday is a learning day, everyday is a day to grow and be better. Over the last few days I have been thinking about how I can help our family to be debt free along with giving me an outlet that is mine alone. I have started looking into business ideas - consulting or a side business are my thoughts.

So I had to start a list of what I am good at, what I like doing and what of those items could be profitable yet not interfere with my full time job or me being a mommy. I have come up with a few including being a blogger.

There is a lot of companies that will post ads on your blogs, forward your blogs for circulation, and some want you to write about certain things. Well I want to write about my everyday life. Who knows maybe one day I will be a person that others follow just to read my rants and raves about things.

I hope all of my friends and family will help me in this quest of mine. So friends/family please start following my blog and spreading it as much as possible. I appreciate anything and everything you can do.

Today was a great day.
The babies woke up and got dressed with little to no complaining. With the thought of cold weather we bundled up nicely and headed to school and work. Alexee went in her cute little skinny jeans and Alex was decked out in his Children's Place clothes.

Work was great because it was busy!!! A few meetings, lunch meeting and conference call while multi-tasking helping my brother find a job.

After work it was a mad dash to pick up my babies and start dinner. Marinated Pork Chops and spinach mashed potatoes were on the menu - oh man everyone including Alex eat it all up.

Dinner, baths, playing motorcycles and reading then off to bed for kisses and prayers. Tonight I put in 35 minutes on the elliptical and weights while watching Bethany Ever After!! Now I am spending time with my hubby watching our recorded shows (CHUCK) and me thinking of ways to provide more!!

Thanks for reading

Love me

Secrets to Success

Here is a list of 10 traits that all successful people practice.
This list should be placed on your bathroom mirror, your coffee pot or even your refrigerator. That way you can read it every day and allow yourself a refresher to what you can do every day!!

To me success can be in a lot of different ways: Home life - mother/wife/friend/sister, Career, Money, Job title/responsibility, finsihing that race, starting that race, the list can go on but whatever you do know what you want and how you are going to be a success at it!!!

  1. How you think is everything – Always be positive. Think success, not failure. Beware of a negative environment.
  2. Decide upon your true dreams and goals – Write down your specific goals and develop a plan to reach them.
  3. Take Action – Goals are nothing without action. Don’t be afraid to get started. Just do it.
  4. Never stop learning – Go back to school or read books. Get training and acquire skills.
  5. Be persistent and work hard – Success is a marathon, not a sprint. Never give up.
  6. Learn to analyze details – Get all the facts, all the input. Learn from your mistakes.
  7. Focus your time and money – Don’t let other people or things distract you.
  8. Don’t be afraid to innovate, be different – Following the herd is a sure way to mediocrity.
  9. Deal and communicate with people effectively – No person is an island. Learn to understand and motivate others.
  10. Be honest and dependable, take responsibility – Otherwise 1 – 9 won’t matter.

I think we all need a little encouragement, reminders anything to help us continue to be a great success!!!

Good luck everyone!! and oh yeah to myself as well

Sunday's are my favorite day of the week

Today was a great day. Things turned out beautifully. What I am having to do is give faith and fate a chance. Trying to do the "less" control angle is not so bad. We intended on on going to Knott's Berry Farm however for the 3rd time we were not able to go. The weather did us in, but what it did do is open up our day for so many possibilities. We ended up trying this amazing new hot dog place called The Hot Dog Shoppe in Corona, CA. The kids enjoyed their hot dogs and fries and hubby enjoyed his Texas 1/4 lb chili dog while I ate my turkey dog with relish, onions and sauerkraut. Yummy :)

Then we used the GPS in my car and found the nearest Fresh and Easy market to do a little shopping and we actually went to Sam's Club and only bought the two things we went in for - made myself very proud hehe :)

The kiddos came home to take a nap and mom and dad got to watch a few shows.

Today was a day for homemade soup in sourdough bread bowls. Another Yummy meal! I filled the soup up with carrots, squash, onions, mushrooms, celery and one potato and the kids ate every drop in their bowl!!!

After dinner we helped the kids paint a few flower pots that will be used for some Easter gifts hehe :) It was nice to just sit with them and talk with them and allow them to be messy. But I did have newspaper laid across the table and aprons on them. Just being me.

After dinner and painting we enjoyed book time, bath time and Alexee even helped me put away all of the laundry my little helper, painting my baby girl's nails and after night time prayers and kisses my hubby and I get to sit next down to each other and be in peace watching shows and listening to the rain come down.

All of this is why I love Sundays - family time, time to relax, time to have peace, time to let control go.

my new love... HARLEY RIDING

Our Kids enjoyed it too.
Okay for those of you that know me well, you know that I am not for 2 wheel bikes - it seems the men in my family - including my husband have an high injury rate when it comes to them. Well I was putting a LOT of faith into a valentines gift for my hubby.

My Sexy Hubby

Fell in love all over again

That's right I think I just became a Harley Momma :)
This year I rented him a Harley. Due to the weather we pushed it off until yesterday. The weather was just perfect for the trip. We picked it up and headed out to Tom's Farm for lunch and to scout out the area for our babies birthday party (the super planner that I am - It is set Sunday October 2nd!!). After that we cruised down to the Lake Elsinore Outlets - I haven't been there in over 10 years and we spurred the economy with a little retail therapy. So far the ride has been great. I was not nervous, scared or anything I actually relaxed and enjoyed it all. After shopping my hubby decided we would take Ortega HWY - I saw it and said, ummm are we going all the way up there??? Well we did and it was breath taking. On the cruise up the hill we came across a lot of bikers and let me tell you the biker community is so friendly it is nice to just wave and nod at all of them while they pass by. At the top of Ortega HWY you can see the entire Lake Elsinore it is beautiful. Down the other side you ride into San Juan Capistrano.
We ended up taking a break and having a little bite to eat. On our way home we took the 241 toll road, 91 FWY and the 71 FWY.

Pulling into our drive way I was sad to see the day end. I truly enjoyed myself more then I ever thought I could.

Spending time with just my hubby and myself free to the world is something you have to experience to fully enjoy it. Perfect weather, perfect day and PEACEFUL.

I am so happy and overjoyed about our HARLEY Day. I am already planning our next trip. I am thinking a beach ride and a night out for us and that Harley. I now know why my hubby loves to ride.
RIde to together, Stay together

Ahh what a great day...

What a great day! See what can happen when Monday's are over.

Today we woke up and it started out right! Two kids dressed and out the door (just a few minutes behind) and I remembered deodorant today hehe. Work was amazing today. I had another trip to the field all the way to Chatsworth today. The music was just right for the drive. It was a day that every song fit my mood and enhanced it!!!

At my meeting I had to be a "team player" and have 1 slice of Papa John's pizza that sucker cost me 7 points YIKES all in the name of being part of the team. Well after I talked to about 30+ men in the field I was able to go where I really wanted to eat Souplantation!! Oh yeah super excited and I had a coupon!! So 3 grown men and me got in line and picked out - that is on veggies!!! With a side of Dark Chocolate fat free frozen yogurt! What a great lunch. At least my souplantation trip only cost me 5 points!!

After work it was off to pick up my babies and meet my mom for gymnastics and then dinner. Gymnastics was another sign of a great day. Both kids had a blast and listened the entire time. Off to Mimi's Cafe for a little relaxation and dinner. IT was so sweet my daughter leaned over and gave my mom a hug and said I love you Grandee - love her!!

We finally walked through the door at 8 pm and it was bath, brushing teeth and just in time for the babies to ask to go to bed (oh yes they actually said Mommy I am tired time for bed and prayers). I cuddled, kissed and tucked them in for the night.

During all of this I received a great message on Facebook from a dear high school friend that is helping me focus on the right reasons for expanding my spiritual path.

All in all today was a great day - and just think tomorrow will already be Wednesday!!

Good night everyone.

PS - I skipped working out today but will be back to the gym with my brother tomorrow!!
